Oldfield habla sobre las remezclas de FMO y Crises

Ya tenemos nuevo, mini-mensaje de Oldfield, ésta vez nos habla sobre las reediciones de éste año del catálogo de Oldfield: Five Miles Out y Crises:

It is winter here in Bahamas ( well it doesn't go much lower then 70 F. ) and I have a few weeks before getting stuck into the Rock project, so I have asked my wonderful record company for the multitracks of Five Miles Out and Crises to be transferred from analog tape to digital ( I hope they don't have to bake them like they did with T.Bells ! ) Looking forward V much to listening to these albums and seeing what I can do maybe in 5.1 surround. Love Mike

Básicamente nos comenta que es invierno allá en las Bahamas, y que tiene algunas semanas antes de que esté metido en el estudio en proyecto de Rock, por lo que ha preguntado a su compañía sobre los multitracks de Five Miles Out y Crises, para pasarlas a digital. Y que tiene ganas de escucharlos y ver la posibilidad de hacer unas mezclas en 5.1.

Son las primeras noticias que tenemos de las nuevas reediciones, que si todo sigue lo previsto, serían lanzadas para verano de éste año. La noticia de la existencia de los multitracks originales no deja de ser buena, y esperemos que Oldfield se decante por realizar un 5.1 de éstas dos obrazas de Oldfield.

ACTUALIZACIÓN: Oldfield ha actualizado en su propio mensaje con lo siguiente:

Had a good chat with my mate Daryl at the record company today they will be looking at the original master tapes tomorrow so hopefully I will get the Five Miles Out Side 1 multi tracks next week and all the rest after that. He thinks there are also some out take reels too so it will be exciting to find out what's on those....Yipee !

Básicamente comenta que ha tenido una charla con Daryl (imaginamos que uno del equipo que se encarga de los remasters). Y comenta que hoy, mirarían por las cintas de FMO, y que se las pasarán para la semana que viene, con suerte. Y comenta que al parecer existen ciertos demos y out-takes. A ver con qué nos sorprenden ésta vez.

ACTUALIZACIÓN 2: nueva actualización sobre el tema, desde el facebook de Oldfield:

Well the FMO and Crises Ampex tapes are all there but they have to be baked and also some of the edits have come apart so the audio archiving technicians are busy working and they say I will get the first batch of digital files by the end of the week so thumbs are a twiddling here.

Al parecer, las cintas están ahí, aunque tienen que ser "cocinadas" pero podrán ser rescatadas a sistema digital, que es lo que interesa. Por otro lado dice que a final de la semana tendrá los masters digitalizados ya, o parte de ellos.

ACTUALIZACIÓN 3: Oldfield de nuevo nos actualizad éste "diario" sobre las remazterizaciones de FMO y Crises:

Just got some of the multi tracks and spent the morning listening in rough 5.1. They sound perfect ! Just as good as they ever were and some tracks like Family Man really ROCK in 5.1. There is an old version of the song Five Mile Out on this master wich is great but is not the one that got used. They tell me there are some more Multi Masters in the oven over the weekend so I'm hopeful the actual Master will be on those reels.
Quite overcome listening to them as they have Pierre Moerlin and Morris Pert on drums.
Lots of work to do !

Mike parece tener ya algunos de los multi tracks de los discos, y se ha pasado toda la mañana escuchándolos en 5.1. Suenan muy bien al parecer. Y al parecer en el master hay una versión vieja de FMO que no es la que se incluyó en el disco, pero no sabemos si Oldfield la pondrá como extra en dichas nuevas remasterizaciones. Éste finde "cocinarán" más masters, y Oldfield ya se frota las manos, pues hay mucho trabajo por delante.
